Is Arcfox sold in Europe?

Partly. Arcfox sells officially in Spain and Poland. Most other European countries have no dealers yet, so importing is the way to get one there.

Is buying an Arcfox in the EU easier than importing from outside Europe?

Much easier. A European Arcfox has European type approval and European software, so no customs clearance or conversion is needed. For the Alpha S, Alpha T, Alpha S5 and Kaola, this is the best route.

Do I pay extra import duty on an Arcfox?

Only if the car comes from outside the EU. Every Arcfox is fully electric, so the extra EU countervailing duty applies on top of the standard import duty. A car from Spain or Poland pays no import duty.

Two routes: inside or outside Europe

From another EU country

The Alpha S, Alpha T, Alpha S5 and Kaola are sold officially in Spain and Poland. No customs, no conversion and a European warranty. A car with European type approval can be registered in any EU country with relatively little paperwork. We collect it and deliver it by road. For these models, this is the best route.

From outside Europe

Want a T1 or T5? Then the car comes from outside the EU, for example from the Middle East or Egypt, where Arcfox sells officially. China itself only allows electric cars to be exported under licence. We check which route works for your model.

What to know before you import an Arcfox

Duties when importing from outside Europe

Every Arcfox is fully electric. A car from outside the EU pays the standard 10 percent import duty, import VAT and the extra EU countervailing duty on Chinese EVs. A car from Spain or Poland avoids all of that.

Registration and taxes differ per country

Registration and road tax are national matters. Some countries add a registration tax, such as BPM in the Netherlands, while others do not. SCL arranges Dutch and German registration in house and can advise on other European countries.

Charging, software and service

A European Arcfox charges with CCS2 and runs European software. Chinese market cars have a GB/T port and Chinese menus. Outside Spain and Poland there is no Arcfox dealer network yet.

What does it cost to import an Arcfox?

For an Arcfox from within the EU, you pay the purchase price, transport and registration. In Spain, prices range from roughly 30,000 to 60,000 euros.
