The popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) from China is growing rapidly in Europe. More and more brands are entering the European market, and the demand for reliable logistics partners for import, storage, and handling is increasing significantly.

At SCL, we experience this every day in practice. We support various Chinese manufacturers and traders with the complete handling of their vehicles in Europe – from container unloading to storage, PDI, and distribution to dealers and end customers.

Our strength lies in Long/Short Term Storage Management (LTSM). With spacious, secure facilities and our own EV charging stations, we ensure that vehicles are stored safely, efficiently, and fully prepared for the next step in the supply chain. In addition, we offer complete solutions for the automotive sector, including:

  • Support for manufacturers entering the European market
  • PDI services (Pre-Delivery Inspection) for quality checks and ready-for-delivery preparation
  • LTSM (Long/Short Term Storage Management) in modern, secure facilities
  • Vehicle storage, equipped with modern charging stations for EVs
  • Container unloading and further handling via road, rail, or sea transport

With this combination of expertise and facilities – including our own EV charging stations – we process large volumes of vehicles for our customers every day. From customs clearance to final delivery: we make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

The growing popularity of Chinese EVs is clearly reflected in the numbers. According to The Wall Street Journal, BYD sold nearly four times as many EVs in Europe in July 2025 compared to a year earlier, totaling 84,416 vehicles. This put BYD ahead of brands such as Jaguar Land Rover, Honda, and Mitsubishi – and even Tesla saw its market share shrink significantly.

Reuters also confirms that “Chinese automakers are rapidly expanding their presence in Europe, with competitive prices and modern EV technology.” BYD is even building new factories in Hungary, focusing on both passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

The rise of Chinese EVs is no longer a distant future, but a daily reality. And SCL is proud to already play an active role in this development.
